What, No Centrist?

Donald Hagen has produced an amusing political beliefs assessment test, to help distinguish between conservatives, liberals, libertarians, and communists. Unfortunately, there is no centrist category. Still, it's worth a look. Here is a sample.

Cloning human beings...

CONS: must be outlawed. The only person who should be creating human beings is God.

LIBL: must be outlawed. The only permissible nontraditional ways to produce offspring are in vitro fertilization, hiring a surrogate mother, and wife swapping.

LBRT: is a perfectly acceptable method of reproduction, and is a wonderful source of identical twins.

COMM: may one day produce the perfect comrade.

Actually, my favorite is the one about warning labels:

What things should have mandatory warning labels?

CONS: - Movies, books, and records with lots of sex

- Museums with sacrilegious works of art

- The City of San Francisco

LIBL: - Artificial sweeteners

- Tobacco products

- Genetically modified/polluted foods

LBRT: - Books whose contents don't live up their provocative covers.

COMM: - Books, movies, and songs that glorify individualism

I LOVE the one about San Francisco!! Actually, the whole test made me chuckle.

I think this is a common mistake... libertarians and centrists are often put into the same boat. Politics 1 for instance doesn't have a centrist section that links to organizations like the New America Foundation, centrist.org, or the Centrist Coalition. It may be worth while to email the editors of some of these pages and try to change that.

Some good news.

Smart Independents (plus the more non-partisan of other ) comprise 30%+ of voters. would like to see a viable group of for inflluence.

Please , let's hit the economy, trade, jobs issues
and come up with some well-thought out-- reality based solutions.

Get it yet? This is a war on U.S. and American people had better get it and fast. Or are there too many yuppies and paper professionals now who have useless thinking? Yes, am a Smart Independent who thinks we have too many overpaid govt., univ. employees, and paper professionals who hemorrhaged the productive segments of the country. Fallacious econ theories and no one doing anything about it, but greedy living off and bleeding the country for years now. What worries the Smart Independents: Yuppies and paper professionals have any brains or self-discipline and sacrifice for country left --or just sawdust for brains, consumerism greedy spending, and soft princely lifestyle ...... left?
